In the period 06-08 March, 2014г. in Istanbul, Turkey was held the 4th EURASIA RAIL Exhibition

300 companies from nearly 25 countries including national pavilions from Germany, Czech Republic, China, France, Britain, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, etc. attended the exhibition.  Participants in the exhibition were the leading companies in the industry such as Siemens, Abb, Bombardier, Ansaldo, Alstom, Wabtec, Vossloh, Thales, Talgo, Knorr Bremse, Voith, Savronik, Ulaşim Aş, Hyundai Eurotem, and from Turkey - TCDD, Tüvasaş, Tüdemsaş, Tülomsaş, Durmazlar, Kardemir, Savronik and Ulaşim A.Ş. and many others.

 

   From Bulgaria attended KTG EOOD, which is engaged in the sale and rental of new, upgraded and used wagons, spare parts for rolling stock and mediation during maintenance services.

 

   The main categories of the exhibition were: technologies in railway transport,  interiors, rail infrastructure, public transport, heavy road machinery, information technologies in transport, logistics, freight and various services.

 

   The Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communications of the Republic of Turkey , Mr. Lutfi Elvan inaugurated the exhibition and presented the intentions of Turkey to invest significant resources in the development of railway transport by providing current and future projects for the construction of high-speed railway. In the past 11 years, Turkey has invested € 6.5 billion in its rail network, constructing 1366 km high speed and 1724 km new railway infrastructure. Currently new 2500 km are under construction and until 2023, € 32.5 billion are going to be invested for the construction of 3,500 km high-speed and 1000 km conventional rail network, increasing the total length of the Turkish railway network to 25000 km.

 

   Official speeches were given by the Director General of Turkish State Railways , Mr. Süleyman Karaman , Mr. Javier Menendez Bonilla - EU Delegation to Turkey , Kadir Topbas - Mayor of Istanbul, and Huseyin Avni Mutlu - Governor of Istanbul. Javier Menendez Bonilla - First Secretary, Head of Section, Financial Co-Operation, Infrastructural, Social & Regional Projects at the European Union Delegation to Turkey presented the joint projects in rail transport sector, which are constructed with financial assistance of the European Union.
